Responsible for ensuring employees have a safer place in which to work, examines ways to keep the work environment safe and secure, develops guidelines for a safer and more efficient way of working while complying with applicable OSHA standards and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
a. Adheres to and enforces company safety program
b. Requires all employees to comply with safety regulations
c. Communicates safety requirements and changes quickly and correctly
d. Maintains applicable OSHA training to perform their duties
e. Assures projects have safety plans including job specific plans using OSHA guidelines and Woodruff safety policies and procedures
f. Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, site specific safety plans and education of all supervisory personnel
g. Researches new regulations and developments in the field of safety and recommends changes in company program as needed
h. Supports new and existing safety initiatives
i. Follows the guidelines in the Safety Manual
a. Maintains good relationships with the Woodruff Team

3. Performance Processes
a. Establishes and assists in implementing the company’s safety program
b. Reinforces safety awareness in a manner that promotes cooperation and improved morale
c. Provide necessary training to personnel to ensure tasks are completed safely
d. Assists in documentation and implementation of required or desired changes in safety program
e. Perform regular safety audits of all projects
f. Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, site specific safety plans and education of personnel
g. Ensures all work related accidents are investigated to identify conditions responsible and corrective action needed.
h. Analyzes accident reports for trends
i. Manage and ensure Toolbox Talks and iAuditors are being done on a weekly basis.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years’ related construction or safety experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to make progress on multiple projects in a timely manner
- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to contain confidential information.
- Travel to our other locations in Iowa will be required.
